AIJU: the design and construction of the testing moulds

Advanced Robotic Technology for Handling Soft Materials in Manufacturing Sectors

AIJU moves on in the design and construction of the testing moulds and the preparation of the mock-up robotic cell in our facilities.

Fresh out of the oven and ready to be in again, our testing moulds have already been shipped to our European partners, in order to be able to replicate at their facilities the doll-demoulding task.

Thanks to a 3D scanner, all doll’s parts have been digitalized and each mould has been designed. These testing moulds can be mechanized in a CNN machine, making the process easily replicable. Our colleges from Zimmer, Sorbonne, IIT and Sigma Clermont will use them to test different methodologies and implement them in our mock-ups.

In parallel with the testing moulds task, AIJU continues with the selection of components and the adaptation of a robotic cell in its facilities, with the main purpose of developing a complete functional workstation, where grippers, tools and algorithms necessary to perform demoulding and assembly tasks could be tested and validated,
