At the Italian Institute of Technology, two groups are working on the SoftManBot project, namely Industrial Robotics Facility (InBot) and Dynamic Interaction Lab (DIL). DIL is currently working on the human-robot interaction, while InBot is working on the development of a prototype aiming to automate the sewing process of cyclists garment in collaboration with Decathlon_Italia.
One of the latest advancements from InBot is the development of a vision-based system for the identification of wrinkles in a fabric, and their consequent removal via a robotic gripper equipped with soft fingers.
